Brazil are one of three teams, together with the United States and Germany, who have been ever-present in all FIFA women's competition: five World Cup finals, three Olympic football tournaments, and three U-20 World Cup finals.
A long series of 21 consecitive wins for Brazil in the 2007 qualifying was brought to a halt by Argentina on November 26, 2006 in the continental final round (0-2). It was the first defeat for Brazil in a qualification tournament and the first time they had failed to score.
Brazil have received the most yellow cards in the World Cup history (28 in 16 matches) and they have also conceded the most penalties (five; four converted).
Brazilian forward Cristiane was the top goalscorer in World Cup 2007 qualifying with 12 goals.
