Brazil's soccer coach Carlos "Dunga" Caetano celebrated on Thursday his team's victory against Mexico that ended a three-year losing-streak.
"We have put an end to that story," Dunga said on Thursday, quoted by the Brazilian Soccer Confederation internet page.
Brazil defeated Mexico on Wednesday night 3-1 in a friendly at Gillette Stadium in Boston, the United States.
As a coach, Dunga's score against Mexico is 1-1 after he lost to Mexico in the Copa America less than three months ago.
In the past seven games between Brazil and Mexico, the South American team had only won one in three years.
Mexico defeated Brazil 1-0 in the Confederations' Cup-2005 in Germany.
"I defeated Mexicans as a coach and I always defeated them as a player. Once we banged Mexico 4-0 in a friendly game in Miami," Dunga said.
As a player Dunga played against Mexico five times, with four victories and one tie.
On Sunday, Brazil defeated the United States 4-2 in another friendly.
Dunga said both games served to give him an idea what players he will be using in the South American qualifying to seek a pass for South Africa-2010's World Soccer Cup.
On October 14, Brazil will play its first qualifier against Colombia in Bogota. Three days later, Brazil will play Ecuador in Rio de Janeiro's Maracan Stadium.
Of all the South American teams, four will participate in South Africa's-2010 World Cup.
