China wins fifth gold at diving world series

China won its fifth gold medal at the diving world series tournament in Nanjing, Southeast China on Sunday as its teenage sensation Chen Ruolin and Wang Xin snatched the women's platform synchronized title.

Chen, who won the gold in Saturday's plaftorm, teamed up with world champion Wang Xin to take the gold with 353.46 points.

Australian pair Melissa Wu and Briony Cole finished second at 340.56 points. They gave their Chinese opponents great pressure during the final as they led after the first three rounds but a fatal mistake in their fourth dive to give the Chinese girls the lead.

Marie-Eve Marleau and Emilie Heymans of Canada won the bronze medal at 339.90 points.

In Saturday's finals, China already won the gold medals of women's platform, men's 3m springboard, men's plaftform synchronized diving and women's 3m springboard synchronized diving.
