World record holder Chen Xiexia of China won the gold medals in the women's 48kg category at the weightlifting world championships on Monday.
The 24-year-old Chen combined lifts of 96kg in the snatch with 122kg in the clean and jerk to finish with 214kg.
Pramsiri Bunphitak of Thailand hoisted the silver with 196kg and her compatriot Pensiri Laosirikul the bronze on 195kg.
