European powerhouse Norway are likely to beat underdogs Ghana when they meet on Thursday to qualify for the World Cup knockout stage from Group C.

The match was originally scheduled to be held in Shanghai on Wednesday, but the coming of typhoon Wipha forced FIFA to change the timetable and put it one day later and transfer to Hangzhou.

Norway (with four points) now only need a draw to cruise to the quarter-finals, and a defeat may not stop their paces if Australia (also with four points) beat Canada (with three points) on Wednesday.

The Nordic women have shown their class in the previous two games, with some marvellous techniques in attacking, and rich methods to split their opponents' defence. While the "Black Queens" exposed their lack of understanding of teamwork and skillful passes after two straight defeats.

Although the Africans have been virtually eliminated from the tournament, they may fight hard to defend their dignity in the last game.

"My team is inexperienced, they are too young, but the ball is round, there are 11 on each side and each team has an equal chance. We will go in with confidence," said Ghana boss Isaac Paha.

Looking at the Scandinavians, they may use their usual way of attacking football featured by swift short passes in the front field and accurate deep balls from the middle part. Striker Raghnild Gulbrandsen, who scored both in the last two outings will spearhead the three-pronged forward line to tear the Ghanian defence.

The two sides have never met before. Ghana will play without Yaa Avoe, who picked an injury in their 4-0 loss to Canada. But Norway will be at full strength.
