Prague, who seeks host of the summer Olympic Games in 2016, has already worked out a preliminary map of Olympic sport grounds, the Czech daily Mlada fronta Dnes (MfD) reported on Wednesday.
The major Olympic complex is to be built on the outskirts of Prague in Letnany. Some Olympic contents would take place at the already existing facilities closer to the center.
Sazka Arena, the most modern multi-functional arena in Europe with a capacity of up to 18,000 that hosted the Ice Hockey World Championships in 2004, would become the venue of the Olympic gymnastic contests.
"Our aim is to enable visitors to walk through a couple of sport grounds in a while," said Tomas Petera, head of the Praha Olympijska (Olympic Prague) company, who is preparing the project.
Prague also intends to build a large swimming pool, seating 400 viewers, for the Olympic contests in the Sutka locality in Prague 8. The total construction costs are put at 650 million crowns.
A 50-meter indoor swimming pool is to be completed by 2011, while an outdoor pool will follow later, along with smaller children pools symbolically shaped as Olympic circles.
The final version of the planned Olympic sport grounds is to be completed in mid-November, according to the paper.
