As part of its efforts to engage youths in gainful activities, Lagos State yesterday unveiled sporting programs expected to assist in discovering athletes for the state.
Speaking at a media briefing in Lagos on Wednesday, the State Commissioner for Youths, Sports and Social Development, Ademola Adeniji Adele, said beginning from Oct. 23 to Nov. 13, youths in the state would be fully engaged in sporting activities, which cut across all the local councils in the state.
Among the activities, tagged: "The sports month" are principal cup finals, sport festival, school sports fiesta, Under-15, swimming championship, Under-13 FA Cup and the award ceremony for the state athletes to the last National Sports Festival in Ogun State.
