Cuba's 23-athlete delegation for the 12th World Special Olympics, left Cuba for Shanghai on Friday, according to local daily Granma.

The delegation is comprised of the women's volleyball team and athletes in the men's and women's athletics, swimming, rhythmical gymnastics and table tennis.

This will be Cuba's seventh participation in this games since 1986.

Some 7,000 athletes from 169 countries and regions have confirmed their participation for the Oct. 2-11 Shanghai Games.
