Africa University International Peace Marathon will be held in Mutare on Saturday.
Wisdom Machacha, the chairman of the organizing committee, said on Friday that they expected over 500 athletes to take part in this year's event, which also includes a half marathon for both men and women, a 10km wheelchair race for the disabled and 5km event for the schools.
Runners from Kenya, Ethiopia and Japan are expected to add an international flavour to the event.
Zimbabwean runner Tapiwa Chingadayi won the last edition in two hours 23 minutes 14 seconds.
