African champions title holder Egypt's Al-Ahly got a 1-0 home victory over Libya's Ittihad in the second leg of the semifinals of the African Champions League (ACL) Sunday evening in Cairo.
In the 20th minute of the first half, Ittihad's player Osama ElHamady scored an own goal amid fierce competition in front of his own net, handing Al-Ahly the lead.
In the second half, both teams had no chance for a goal and the final result remained 1-0 after 90 minutes.
The home victory made Al-Ahly, nicknamed "Red Devils", qualified for the final matches of the ACL, during which the Egyptian club will meet with Tunisia's ESS team for the title of the ACL 2007.
The first leg of the final matches was scheduled for late this month and the second leg for early November.
The Red Devils, which has won five titles of the African champions up to now, has the chance to win its sixth and a third consecutive one.
