The Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) has appealed to the National Sports Commission to provide it 12 million naira to update its secretariat toward hosting the North-West African cricket tournament in April.
NCF President Kwesi Sagoe, who declared open the 2007/2008 cricket season in Lagos on Sunday, explained that the money would be used to upgrade the federation's information technology facilities, as well as the refurbishment of its offices.
He called on corporate outfits such as banks and oil companies, as well as other manufacturing concerns, to support the NCF "to enable us to host a successful championship next year."
