Egypt will send a delegation of about 150 members to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, a senior Egyptian sports official said on Tuesday.
Mohamed Kamal Shahin, president of Egyptian delegation to the Games, told Xinhua that he expects the Egyptian delegation to include about 100 athletes, 50 trainers and administrative officials over 24 sports.
Until now, about 30 Egyptian athletes have secured the Beijing Olympic Games slots, including two table tennis players, two weightlifters, two gymnasts, two modern pentathlon athletes and six canoeists.
Praising China's preparations for the Beijing Olympics as very "amazing", Shahin said he follows the latest developments of the preparations through websites, phone calls and communications with China's Olympic Committee.
