Female speed skater Martina Sablikova, 20, twice world champion, has won the Czech Athlete of the Year 2007 sport journalists' poll on Saturday.
The second position went to female javelin thrower Barbora Spotakova. Sarka Zahrobska, female slalom skier, finished third, the Czech news agency CTK reported.
Sablikova, who ended eighth in the poll last year, has won the world speed skating championships in 3 kilometers and 5 kilometers and won in the same categories at the European championships.
