U.S. star Serena Williams has withdrawn from next week's WTA Antwerp tournament, organizers announced on Wednesday.
The eight Grand Slam title holder is to undergo dental surgery to rectify a condition that also ruled her out of competing in this week's Paris Open.
Organizers said they would try to invite either Elena Dementieva or Nadia Petrova, both of Russia, to replace Williams to round out the field that features seven of the top 20 players including world number one Justine Henin.
