Canadian Svein Tuft won Friday gold medal at the men's counter clock trial in 39.500 kilometers winning his fourth golden medal at the Uruguay's Panamerican Cycling Championship.
Tuft timed 46 minutes and 37 seconds at an average velocity of 50.197 km per hour at the street tour by Montevideo's avenue that borders Rio del Plata river.
Argentine Matias Medici won the silver medal timing 26 seconds more than the winner and Brazilian Luis Amorim Tavares won bronze timing 56 seconds more.
At the tour's midpoint the Canadian and the Argentine were equal but at the final part Tuft was able to establish the advantage.
Tuft, 30 years old, has imposed him self at individual pursuit, points race and Madison trails.
Under 23 years old category, Colombian Jaime Suaza won first place with a timing of 49 minutes and 17 seconds.
Second place was for Argentine Roman Mastrangelo and third place was for Uruguayan Jorge Soto.
Track Cycling and Bicycle Racing's Panamerican is being held in Uruguay from May 4 to 11 with the participation of around 250 sportsmen from 25 countries.
