Colombian cyclist Madrinan wins counter clock race in Uruguay

Colombian cyclist Ana Paola Madrinan won on Friday the gold medal in the women's 19,500 meter counter clock race at Uruguay's Track and Route Pan American Cycling Championship.

Madrinan clocked a time of 27 minutes and two seconds at her average advance of 43.280 kms per hour in the route bordering Rio de la Plata in Montevideo, Uruguay's capital.

Mexican cyclist Giusseppina Grassi won the silver medal timing seven seconds more than Madrinan and the United States' cyclist Kori Seehafer won the bronze, timing 11 seconds more.

Colombia is leading the medal winning in this championship with18 medals, 10 of gold, four silver and four bronze.

This event started on May 4 and will conclude on May 11, and counts with the participation of 25 countries and some 250 athletes.
