Six Chinese women table tennis players advanced to the second round at the ITTF China Open while Ding Ning and Mu Zi are eliminated here on Friday.

China's star players Zhang Yining, Wang Nan, Li Xiaoxia and GuoYue hardly came across any block and eased over their rivals, and 20th-ranked Cao Zhen downed DPR Korea's Kim Jong 4-1.

"I lost again to my ex-teammate and roommate," said South Korea's Dang Ye Seo, a former Chinese who was beaten by Zhang Yining.

Rao Jingwen faced some challenge from Sun Bei Bei, however, she managed to beat the 18th-ranked Singaporean by a narrow margin 4-3.

China's two young players, Ding Ning and Mu Zi, failed to resist South Korea's top chop player Kim Kyung Ah and Park Mi Young, and were not able to go further in the women's singles.

The second round will be held on Saturday morning.
