He is a pedestrian who has traveled the longest journey in the world.
This morning, carrying the sacred Olympic flame, he experienced the most significant minutes in his march.
His name is Lei Diansheng, an Olympic torchbearer in Harbin, capital of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province.
As early as in 1998, Lei Diansheng, a 35-year-old walker, started his pedestrian journey at the very beginning of the country's 102 state highway at Harbin.
He planned to travel all over China on foot within ten years, before the opening of the 2008 Olympic Games.
On July 13, 2001, when he arrived in southwest Yunnan Province, Lei was informed that Beijing would be the host city of the big events in 2008.
He was so excited that he decided to contribute a flag carrying postmarks from different places in China as a special present to the Beijing Olympic Games.
"The first postmark was from Shangrila and I'll collect 2008 postmarks before the games," said Lei.
Lei was embodied in the Guinness Book Records in 2004 for his ever longest pedestrian march in the world.
In the past ten years, Lei has collected about two thousand postmarks. Now he gets back to Harbin, the start point of his heroic journey.
"After the torch relay, I will finish the last tour between Tianjin and Beijing before the opening of the Olympic Games. It will be a perfect end to my journey," said him.
