Artur Taymazov of Uzbekistan retained his Olympic gold as he won the men's freestyle 120kg wrestling final at the Beijing Olympic Games on Thursday.
Taymazov defeated Bakhtiyar Akhmedov to stop Russia from reaping its seventh wrestling gold at the Beijing Olympics, winning the final 2-0 (3-0, 1-0).
Thus, he also became the third freestyler successfully defending his gold from Athens. The others are Russian Mavelt Batirov in 60kg category and Buvaysa Saytiev in 74kg weight-class.
Taymazov, 29, also won silver in Sydney 2000 Games.
