Espanyol was handed a fine of 3,000 euros (4,076 U.S. dollars) by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) on Tuesday due to the crowd trouble that marred last month's derby against Barcelona.
The Catalonian derby between Espanyol and Barcelona on Sept. 27was halted in the 68th minute by the referee when smoke bombs were thrown by upper Barcelona supporters onto Espanyol fans in stands below.
Espanyol, who lost the game 2-1, said in a statement on its website that it would accept the decision. Source: Xinhua
