New Liverpool signing Albert Riera was called into the Spain squad for the next two World Cup qualifying matches late on Tuesday night.

Riera, who just failed to make the Spanish squad for this summer's European Championships, has been given a late call by Spain national coach Vicente del Bosque to cover for Sevilla winger Diego Capelo.

Riera's call-up means that he is the fifth Liverpool player with a chance of playing for Spain this weekend.

He joined Liverpool from Espanyol this summer and has already become a first team regular in Rafa Benitez's side.

Del Bosque had already named striker Fernando Torres, goalkeeper Pepe Reina, defender Alvaro Arbeloa and midfielder XabiAlonso in his squad of 21 players for the games against Belgium and Estonia.
