Turkey will host the world amateur team golf championship in 2012, the golf federation announced on Monday.
Turkish Golf Federation said in a statement that the World Amateur Team Championship would be held in Turkey in 2012.
"Turkey became the venue of the event in the voting held in Adelaide, Australia among other candidates including Italy and Austria," the federation said.
Turkey won 76 of 92 votes in the voting.
Established in 1996, the Turkish Golf Federation became the youngest federation that will host the World Amateur Team Championship.
The World Amateur Team Championship is organized in a different continent once in every two years. Almost 100 countries and regions are participating in the event in men's and women's categories.
2012 World Amateur Team Championship will take place in the Cornelia Golf Club, Gloria Golf Club and Antalya Golf Club in Belek town of the Mediterranean province of Antalya.
