Gogi Nebulana gifted Indonesia a gold by winning the men's Jianshu (sword play) at the 9th World Wushu Championships in Beijing on Wednesday.
Nebulana, 26, survived the breathtaking competition to win the gold with a score of 9.48 points, only 0.03 points more than the runner-up Liu Yang of Hong Kong, China.
"I have been practicing Wushu for 12 years," said the Indonesian. "Everyone of my family play Wushu."
"Wushu gives me a lot, not only physically, but also mentally," added the 26-year-old.
Liu, the bronze medalist of the men's Qiangshu (spear play) on Monday, took the silver in 9.45, while Lim Yew Fai of Malaysia finished third in 9.41.
