President of International Boxing Association (AIBA) Ching-Kuo Wu said here on Sunday China is hopeful to win a gold on boxing at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and he would like to award the gold himself.
Wu made the remarks on the sidelines of the ongoing Beijing international boxing invitational tournament that kicked off Saturday.
He said China made a breakthrough in the AIBA world championships by winning one gold and four bronzes. "Every bronze winner has the potential to win gold at the Olympics and China is likely to win its first Olympic gold next year."
