Russian athletes urged to win 14 golds in Sochi Winter Olympics 2014

Russia has asked its athletes to win t least 14 gold medals at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, senior official said on Monday.

Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov made the remarks after ameeting on the construction of the facilities for the Games that is to be held in the Black Sea resort.

Russia won eight gold medals in the Winter Olympic Games in Turin in 2006 and six gold medals in Salt Lake City in 2002.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has urged the country's top security body, the Federal Security Service, to take tangible measures to secure the Games.
