China stormed into the women's semifinals of the world team table tennis championships here Thursday after trouncing Romania 3-0.
Both world number one Zhang Yining and third-ranked Guo Yue took their matches 3-1 before second-ranked Li Xiaoxia sealed China's success with a 3-0 win.
Romania, the third-place finisher in Group B, beat Germany 3-2 on Wednesday to reach the quarterfinals.
In other quarter-final games, Japan took down Hungary 3-0, Singapore crushed the Netherlands by the same score, while Hong Kong of China fought off a fired-up Austria 3-2.
