Cuban baseball teams Santiago and Havana have ended the nation's 47th baseball season ahead of other competitors each with 60 victories and 29 defeats, leading groups D and B respectively.
Defending champion Santiago is 16 matches ahead of Group D second place, Guantanamo, with 44 wins and 44 losses while Industriales is second to Havana with 53 wins and 34 loses.
Wednesday will see the beginning of two play-off series with the top two teams from each group: for the Western Region Santiago, Las Tunas, Ciego de Avila and Villa Clara; and for the eastern region Havana, Industriales, Sancti Spiritus and Pinar del Rio.
