Thailand clinched a 3-0 win over New Zealand and secured a place in the quarter finals of the Thomas Cup competition at the Bung Karno Sports Hall in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Japan also entered the quarter finals after narrowly defeating Germany 3-2 in the third day of the tournament.

Japan's men's squad will meet Group B top finisher Malaysia while Thailand will meet China in the quarter finals on Wednesday.

In the Uber Cup, Malaysian girls swept past Japan's women shuttlers 3-0 while Netherlands demolished New Zealand 3-0 in Tuesday's playoff round.

Malaysia will meet South Korea and Netherlands will meet China in Wednesday's quarter finals of the Uber Cup tournament.
