A New Zealand expedition team has conquered Mount Qomolangma -- the first since the death of Edmund Hillary in January, media reports said on Saturday.
The expedition was led by Guy Cotter of Wanaka-based Adventure Consultants and included New Zealand guides Lydia Bradey and Mike Roberts.

Cotter said he was grateful for the continued co-operation with the Nepalese authorities.

New Zealand has had a close association with Nepal and the Sherpas since Edmund became the first climber to conquer Qomolangma in May 1953.

He said they were really happy to have had the group successfully reach the world's highest summit.
