The Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee has come up with a series of slogans and cheering routines for crowds at games' venues, Beijing Times reports.

An official with the Committee says the simple chants and gestures are designed to help spectators cheer for their favorite sportsmen in a smooth, civilized manner. These gestures include giving a double thumbs-up, and waving both arms with clenched fists. These actions are accompanied by several slogans.

The cheering routines – most of which are made up of four steps - which will be popularized among spectators in the weeks leading up to the Olympics. Live broadcasts before and during Olympic events will promote the use of these gestures. Volunteers will also be on hand to direct the crowds how to cheer.

The Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee has hired 30 cheering squads at Olympic ventures to show spectators how the gestures are done. The Ministry of Education is also arranging special training sessions in schools for the 800,000 students who are expected to attend the games.

The gestures and slogans for the 2008 Olympics were released on Wednesday.
