Denis Oswald, IOC executive board member and chief inspector for the London Games, told Xinhua on Saturday that London can learn from Beijing's transport.
"There are many aspects that Beijing Games are a good example for future organizers. Of course, situation in London is different from Beijing, so every time the Games are different and every country will bring its own flavour, culture and I don't think organizers should repeat what has been done in the previous one because it's always difficult. " the Swiss said in a formal interview organized by the Shunyi District government.
"Certainly for example we got in all sports state-of-art venues and Beijing has brought this a step further from previous organizers. London will try to match that as well.
"And in many fields I can go deeper, for example, transport after the opening ceremony was just fantastic. Everybody was astonished how quickly they can go back to the hotel, how quickly the athletes can go back to their village because normally in previous Games it's always a chaos and certainly this is an aspect London can learn."
"London has some people here to observe what has been done. They have also a number of people, about 40 to 45 people, participating six to seven weeks before the opening ceremony." Oswald said.
At the 120th IOC session on August 7, Oswald was elected executive board member by the IOC general assembly.
When commenting on the venue of Shunyi Rowing-Canoeing Park, the president of FISA (International Rowing Federation) said:"It is the best we ever had in the Olympic Games, wonderful installation, very nice park, highest technical quality with beautiful surroundings."
"The organization is also excellent, and the only concern is related to the weeds, which are coming from the ground. They can create unfair condition. However, this has been done through your efforts of your management of the course and local communities," he added.
China's rowing has made good progress in recent years and is set to win it's first gold in Olympics.
"China has always been the best rowing nation in Asia, and in past Olympics, you sometimes had one crew reaching the final or even getting the medal. The big change now is you have even more boats of high level." Oswald said.
