Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Tuesday named Dmitry Kozak as a deputy prime minister in charge of the preparation work for the Sochi Winter Olympic Games in 2014.
Medvedev urged Kozak, former minister for regional development, to focus on the preparation for the Olympic Games that is to be held in the Black Sea resort.
The preparation for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Sochi is a major task of the Russian leadership, said the Russian head of state.
"You know that we wish to build not only an Olympic capital but also one of the world's best resorts and offer a developed and convenient infrastructure for all Russian citizens," Interfax quoted Medvedev as saying.
