China dominates Asian mountain bike cross-country

Chinese clean swept the Elite Women's Cross Country at the 14th Asian Mountain Bike Championship held at the race course in Nepali capital Kathmandu.

In Men's Elite Cross Country category, Chinese Jiang Xueli emerged victorious on Saturday's competition, leading the race from the very first lap and completing the 35.63 km long seven laprace in 1 hour 34 minutes and 24 seconds among 30 riders hailing from 13 countries.

Ren Chengyuan, Liu Ying and Shi Qinglan of China occupied the champion, the second and the third positions out of 11 riders from six countries and regions.

Out of four riders representing the host Nepal -- Padam Sabenhang, Deependra Bajracharya, Danjit Rai and Suresh Kumar Dulal, Sabenhang was the only to complete the race in Men's Elite Cross Country category. He finished the race in 17th position with the timing of 2 hours 10 minutes and 53 seconds, local newspaper The Rising Nepal reported on Sunday.
