Tickets ready in Mexico for World Classic baseball

The Organizing Committee of the World Classic in Mexico City on Thursday announced the ticketsfor the World Baseball Classic 2009 will be on sale on Monday.

Mexican baseball fans who buy tickets for the World Baseball Classic 2009 will have the change to see six games of the first stage of the tournament, organizers in Mexico City said.

The games of the first round will be simultaneously played in Foro Sol, Mexico City; Hiram Bithorn Stadium, San Juan, Puerto Rico; Tokyo Dome, Japan; and Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada.

The tickets will be on sale at the four locations of the first stage of the World Classic, which gathers the best 16 baseball teams of the world, and they will be strips of six tickets, one for each one of the six games of the first round.

The tickets for the games in Mexico will cost from 450 Mexican pesos (40 U.S. dollars) to 3,500 pesos (300 dollars).

The tickets could be bought by internet at the websites of the Major League Baseball, World Baseball Classic and at ticketmaster.com.mx, as well as in 70 sell points of ticket-masterin Mexico.

Soon will be announced the date of the tickets sale for the second round, to be in San Diego, U.S. where the two best teams from the four groups will pass to the finals, which will be playedin Los Angeles, U.S.

President of the Organizing Committee of the World Classic in Mexico City Alejandro Hut accompanied by Director of the World classic 2009 James Pearce announced that the activity in Mexico will began on March 8, at 13:00 local time, with a game between Cuba and South Africa, and at night Mexico will play against Australia.
