China's Liu Lan clinched the gold in the 50m girls butterfly finals at the first Asian Youth Games on Saturday.

Liu clocked in a time of 27.33 seconds. Kazakhstan's Elmira Aigaliyeva, clocking a time of 27.95 seconds, took the silver medal, while taking the third placing is Chan Kin Lok from Hong Kong, China. She clocked a time of 28.48 seconds.

The first Asian Youth Games is held in Singapore from June 29 to July 7, with some 1,400 athletes aged between 14 and 17 from 45 Olympic Council of Asia's members competing in 90 events across nine sports.
