Formula One driver Felipe Massa planed to return to Brazil by August 2, rather than being transferred to a Paris hospital, according to the earlier reports.

The Brazilian is under continual observation in the AEK Hospital of Budapest, director of which, Istvan Szilvassy, released Massa's decision on Thursday.

Massa was transferred Wednesday from the intensive care unit to an observation room at the military hospital and previously announced to be transferred to the Pitie-Salpetriere Hospital in Paris.

The driver's incredible recovery time has changed the plans. Due to his miraculous recover from his crash during the time trials at the Grand Prix in Hungary, the athlete wants to come home.

As it stands, Massa will be transferred by helicopter from the AEK Hospital on August 2 to the local airport where he will board a private jet with the destination of Sao Paulo, Brazil.

After receiving the visit of Dr. Gerard Saillant, the top doctor at the Paris hospital where the likes of Ronaldo have received the attention of the world renowned specialist, Massa decided that due to his quick recovery time, he wants to travel home to visit family and friends.

The driver's father has declared that his son, after his brief visit to Brazil, will travel to Paris for the best treatment possible to fully recuperate.

Massa's return to the F1 world is doubtful by the end of this year. However, due to his impressive response and recovery, Massa will have the liberation by the medical staff at AEK to return home.
