By wining their first match in the Maceio stage of the National Circuit at Brazilian beach volleyball, Alison and Harley clinched this year's men's tournament title on Friday.

The pair's victory over Vinicius and Felipe guaranteed that they would place in at least 13th place, giving them enough points to secure this year's title.

Winning by 18-13 and 18-13, Alison and Harley were able to distance themselves from the second-placed combination of Marcio and Fabio Luiz.

"This is the title that I was missing. I won the World Circuit last year and was selected as the world's best male beach volleyball player. I had done almost everything except with the National Circuit," said the 35 year-old Harley.

"I began to play beach volleyball late in my life and for that reason the apex of my game came a little bit later as well. I got a lot of great experience with some of my other veteran partners and now I am the veteran, helping out my former teammate Pedro Solberg and now Alison," added he.

"It is amazing for a 23-year-old athlete to participate in his first season as a professional and have as much success as I have alongside Harley this year. We beat some great teams throughout the year and were able to maintain a high level of play on a consistent basis," said Alison.

"I dedicate this title to all those people who supported us and who believed in us, especially our coaching staff."

After returning to Brazil after their international events, placing second both at the World Championships as well as the World Circuit, Alison and Harley have not lost a game.

They have won the last five stages of the National Circuit, beginning with Belem, Teresina, Fortaleza, Joao Pessoa and finally Recife.

Regardless of their results this weekend in Maceio, the duo has already been crowned, but you can be sure that the team is there to win.
