Japan's Tanaka Hiromasa totaled 7,515 points to dominate in men's decathlon Friday at Asian championships.
Tanaka ranked first in three events including pole vault, javelin and 1,500 meters race, which cemented his title early. Iran's Hadi Sepehrzad totaled 7,262 points to grab the silver while China's Zhu Hengjun bagged bronze with 7,200 points.
"I remained calm in today's events, besides, it doesn't rain today which is good for me to perform," said the 29-year-old.
"I ranked third in 2002 Asia Games, and this time I also remain in good form. I hope that I could crown at next year's Asian Games," said Tanaka.
