Mexico leads C. American Games medal tally

Mexico led the medal tally with a total of 271 medals after the ninth day of the Central American and Caribbean Games 2010 on Monday.

Mexico won 22 gold medals on Monday, which made it claim the first place of the standing with a total of 94 gold medals, 94 silver and 83 bronze.

Venezuela ranked second with a total of 249 medals, including 87 gold, 82 silver and 80 bronze.

In third place is Colombia with a total of 204 medals, 82 of the gold, 64 silver and 58 bronze.

The Central American and Caribbean Games 2010 are being hosted in Mayaguez, Puerto Rica and also Colombia is an alternative host for some competitions.
