Thiago Alves from Brazil won on Sunday the Sao Paulo Open after beating top ranked Argentine Carlos Berlocq.
With the 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 triumph, the Brazilian tennis player took home the prize of 100,000 U.S. dollars.
Thiago participated in the 2006 edition, but he ended up in second place behind Flavio Seretta. This year, the player did not let the opportunity escape.
Thiago entered this year's tournament as an underdog after having one of his worst years as a professional tennis player. The former world No. 95 had slipped to No. 383. Source: Xinhua
