Marathoners from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) crowned on Sunday at the 21st "Mangyongdae Prize" Marathon held in Pyongyang, said the official news agency KCNA.

Pak Song Chol and Phyo Un Suk of the DPRK came first, Adugna Tolagemeda of Ethiopia and Kim Chol Sun of the DPRK second and KimIl Nam of the DPRK and Beata Naigambo of Namibia third at the marathon contest, said KCNA.

Over 600 marathoners, who came from the DPRK, Namibia, South Africa, Russia, Botswana, Ethiopia, China, Zimbabwe and Kenya, take part in the contest.

The DPRK held sport contests in April commemorating the former leader Kim Il Sung's birthday every year.
