Rookie Yi Jianlian scored a career-high 22 points in the Milwaukee Bucks' 95-92 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves in Milwaukee on Saturday.
Yi's previous best was a 19-point effort against Yao Ming and the Houston Rockets on November 9.
Yi's outburst came after a tough game for him the night before when he committed six turnovers in the Bucks' 104-82 loss to the Boston Celtics.
But the young Buck was able to bounce back, hitting a couple shots and a couple free throws in the final minutes as the Bucks improved their home record to 8-2.
"It was good," Yi told JSOnline. "I had a few important baskets at the end, and I hustled back on fast breaks."
Yi was 9-of-14 from the floor and perfect on four attempts from the foul line to go along with seven rebounds. His 38 minutes were also a season high, as he stayed on the floor for the entire fourth quarter. Yi is Milwaukee's fourth leading scorer with 10.3 points per game and is second on the team with 5.5 rebounds per game.
