The Los Anglese Lakers proved they came for the NBA champion by beating the Boston Celtics 87-81 on Tuesday night in Game 3 of NBA finals series.
Kobe Bryant proved that he deserved the MVP title, and he scored 36 points for the Lakers. Reserve Sasha Vujacic added 20 points, and Paul Gasol had 9 points.
"We just wanted to play," said Bryant: "I don't think anyone was feeling desperate." The superstar made it clear that they are confident to win the series.
Without the chanting "Beat L.A.," the Celtics had to endure "Boston (stinks)" from the Lakers' fans every time holding the ball at the Staples Center.
Ray Allen was not affected and he had 25 points for the Celtics, but it's not the case with Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett.
Only one-third of Boston's Big Three showed up.
Pierce, who averaged 25 points in the series, missed 12 shots and was in foul trouble all night with only 6 points. Garnett scored 13 points on just 6-of-21 shooting.
Game 4 is Thursday night at the Staples Center, where the Lakers are 9-0 in the playoffs and unbeaten in 15 games since March 28.
Los Angeles is trying to become the fourth team to come back from a 0-2 deficit in NBA history, and with two more games at home, they've got a chance.
