After a frustrating first semester, Brazilian beach volleyball player Leila announced on Thursday that she has a new teammate.

After having dissolved her duo with Sandra Pires, Leila joined forces with the 21-year-old Barbara Seixas. The debut of the new team will be on Friday, September 26th, in the Vila Velha state ofthe Brazilian Circuit of beach volleyball in the state of Espiritu Santos.

The tournament is restarting after a long pause due to the Olympic Games.

Although the new team has not had enough time together to create chemistry between them, Leila is optimistic about the future.

The 36-year-old said that "Barbara is a young player, but she has already proved that she is a talented player. We have practices a little together and I am already feeling at home with her. Clearly, there is plenty of room to improve. However, we will improvise and attempt to pull of the best result possible."

On Barbara's resume, she already has three world titles. One of them came in 2005 during the under-19 competition, and the other two in the under-21 during 2006 and 2007.

Her former teammate Vivian has now joined forces with Larissa. Larissa was in need of a partner while waiting for Juliana to recover from her knee injury.

Barbara's new partner, Leila, is the owner of two Olympic bronze medals in indoor volleyball. She was a part of the national team in Atlanta (1996) and Sydney (2000).
