Chinese center Yao Ming scored 21 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead the Houston Rockets over the Los Angeles Clippers 110-93 on Saturday.
The victory helped Rockets pull within a game for the NBA Southwest division leaders San Antonio Spurs.
The Rockets improved to 30-8 at home, one win shy of last season's win total at home and ensuring back-to-back 30-win home campaigns for the first time since 1992-1994, a run that included an NBA title.
The Clippers fell to 18-56, second-worst in the Western Conference and third-worst in the 30-team league.
Aaron Brooks added 21 points for Houston, which also had 15 from Shane Battier and 13 each from Luis Scola and Ron Artest.
The Rockets will play five of their final eight games on the road with games against NBA title contenders Orlando and the Los Angeles Lakers plus Dallas, New Orleans, Phoenix and Portland.
