The Cleveland Cavaliers kept their hopes alive of making the NBA finals after a 112-102 win over the Orlando Magic in the Western Conference finals on Thursday, cutting the deficit to 3-2 in the series.

Cleveland Cavaliers' LeBron James (L) tries to shoot over Orlando Magic's Dwight Howard during the second quarter of Game 5 of their NBA Eastern Conference Final basketball playoff game in Cleveland, Ohio, May 28, 2009.

Cleveland's LeBron James scored 37 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists, helping the home team combat off a late surge from the Magic. Guard Mo Williams finally pulled off an excellent show by adding 24 for the Cavaliers.

Dwight Howard had 24 points and 10 rebounds before fouling out for the Magic who are trying to end a 14 year finals drought. Hedo Turkoglu led the Magic with 29 points.

The Cavaliers now have the chance of becoming just the ninth team since 1947 to rally and win a series after being down 3-1.

But the Magic still retain the momentum as game six will be shifted to Orlando on Saturday.
