Boston Celtics' forward Kevin Garnett was to sign a sneaker contract with Chinese brand Anta this weekend, according to sources of the NBA China.

An official with anonymity told Xinhua Thursday that the All-Star player had reached an agreement with Anta, but would not announce it until Garnett's contract with Adidas expires at end of the month.

The Anta company has confirmed to hold a press conference on Sunday in Beijing.

Garnett, 34, averaged 19.8 points, 10.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in his 15-year career.

After a dismal 12-year spell with the Minesota Timberwolves where he failed to win a championship, Garnett went to Boston in a blockbuster trade on July 31, 2007.

He won the first title with the Celtics in 2007-08 season and led them to the Finals again last season.
