Dunga, head coach of the Brazilian national football team, blamed on Monday the modern evolution of the game which, in his opinion, restrains the forwards and amounts to fewer shots on goal.
Brazil was held 1-1 by Peru on Sunday in Lima in the third round of South American qualifying for the 2010 soccer World Cup. Mid-fielder Kaka scored for Brazil.
"That is how modern soccer is. Vagner Love had one or two chances, and so did Robinho, but we attacked with other players, like mid-fielders and full-backs. The chances are shared by the whole team," the coach said.
Nevertheless, one of the items on the "to do list" is to solve the national team's problems in the creation of opportunities, according to the coach. Disappointed with the results in Lima, Dunga will demand more creativity in the game of next Wednesday against Uruguay.
"We have to create more opportunities and make goals. Not only me, but all the players were frustrated with the result," said Dunga.
Although not satisfied with the offensive performance of the national team, Dunga discarded the possibility of altering the names of who will play in their next game - especially, within the forwards, since Love has the pressure of Luis Fabiano's presence who was called in to take Afonso's place.
"I liked the performance of the players who entered as substitutes (Elano and Fabiano). They have to be ready to help. We cannot switch players all the time because players need to feel that they have the confidence of the coach," Dunga said.
Monday afternoon, the team had a practice in the city of Sao Paulo. The starters will be focusing on their physical condition in the swimming pool while the reserves will be practicing on the field.
On Wednesday night at Morumbi stadium in Sao Paulo, they will face Uruguay in the forth qualifying round for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
