Diego Maradona came on Thursday to Boca Juniors soccer club's training session to give support to this team and its coach Miguel Angel Russo towards the World Soccer Club Championship to be played on December 7-16 in Japan.
Maradona strongly supported Russo and said "it would be a bad mistake to look for another coach because this one is very good and hard working."
"Russo has done a great job for Boca and its players, this is a bad moment but he is going to overcome it, it is a young team, I believe Russo has to continue," Maradona said.
The Argentine legend gave a press conference after the training session showing his satisfaction for the return of Juan Roman Riquelme, who will be presented on Thursday afternoon at La Bombonera Stadium, and asked the organizers to "let him play" the competition in Asia.
Maradona, 47, said he would like to go to World Soccer Club Championship as a spectator but lamented that "the Japanese do not allow me to enter the country". Source: Xinhua
