French international Franck Ribery's score in the 22nd minute was good enough to help Bayern Munich beat Arminia 1-0 on Sunday, propelling Bayern past Werder Bremen to regain first place in the Bundesliga table.
Playing in front of 23,800 spectators in the sold-out Alm, Arminia attempted to brave the stormy elements and steady downpour and to take it to Bayern from the very start.
Just four minutes in, Jonas Kamper just missed on a free kick and then challenged Oliver Kahn with a shot from 20 meters out in the ninth minute.
Bayern kept their cool, with Ribery taking a pass from Luca Toni and overwhelming Arminia goalie Mathias Hain. Ribery's score set the tone, as Bayern went on to control the first half and win.
With the narrow away win, Bayern overtook Bremen to regain the top place of the Bundesliga table they lost just a day before. Source: Xinhua
